XYZ mapping was developed to determine three-dimensional geographical pipeline coordinates using an inertial navigation unit. The inner geometry of the pipeline can be monitored simultaneously. The survey results include information about the pipeline’s XYZ location, depicted by plan, elevation, and distance views. Various factors are accurately measured, computed and reported: pipeline alignment, direction and the orientation of horizontal and vertical bends with respect to angle, radius, direction and location.

Furthermore, all features such as dents, ovalities, creases and metal loss can be recorded simultaneously. As a result, exact coordinates are assigned to these features just as to welds and installations. Deformation, bending strain and pipeline movement calculations can be performed on request.  All results are easy to process and to depict with the ROSEN client software. Maps and satellite pictures of different resolution quality are included on request.
