ROSEN has developed an advanced instrument for the pipeline engineer: the Pipeline Data Logger (PDL) for assessing the temperature, pressure and pressure differential (Delta P) profile along the entire length of a pipeline. It simply bolts on to any cleaning pig.
The instrument carries fast-response sensors which record with a high resolution - even for pipelines of 500 km or more and a pig run time of over 30 days. It is supplied with software for user-friendly operating and visual data representation.
Detecting restrictions and deposits, monitoring pig behavior, cleaning progress and verification of process conditions are just a selection of its possible applications.

The PDL instrument has already been used successfully to locate restrictions in liquid-carrying pipelines (in combination with ROSEN pig tracking equipment), avoiding the need to deploy a geometry survey pig.

The two basic models PDL4 (4" and larger) and PDL14 (14" and larger), with their adapters, make it possible to monitor pig behavior and process conditions in all pipelines of 4" diameter and up.
